  2. Ditto I agree with Red...

The bike makes me thinner, healthier and makes me happy :-) ...but it certainly costs a wedge to keep it/them going!

  3. My wife pointed out yesterday (as I was trying to persuade her to let me get a mountain bike) that on average, I am spending £90 per month on my bike...

My monthly train ticket is only £60.

    I had no arguments there!

As for the artwork - he's on facebook too - I joined his group yesterday - drew smiley I think his name is - or have I made that up?

  6. I like it. Although the car I used to run was bought for £200 and cost about the same to tax for a year, and about £300 to insure. So far this year we've spent probably close to 3k on bikes... haha, cheaper my bum.

  7. In the 3 months since I've got my bike I've spent £200 on cycling related stuff that wouldn't have been bought if I didn't have a bike. It's easy to get addicted to cycling and get carried away. As time goes on I'm sure my spending will do down.

The thing is, that lots of the stuff I've bought I could probably managed without. So, it not that cycling costs lots, it that we choose to spend lots.
