New tyres

I've been wanting to get some new tyres for a little while but in preparation for the London to Brighton Bike Ride on Sunday I bought some.

After getting some advice from a colleague I decided on a pair of Continental Touring Plus tyres which are 26" x 1.75". A few weeks ago when I was looking for them, the cheapest I could find anywhere was £20 per tyre delivered. Well, on Sunday night I thought I'd look on eBay on the off chance of a bargain and found a pair for sale from Absolute Cycles for just £28.95. By 9am Monday morning they emailed me to say they'd been despatched and Tuesday morning they arrived in the post, Recorded Delivery.

I fitted the tyres yesterday lunchtime with the help of a colleague. They were a little tough to get on but we got there in the end.

Having ridden on them today I'm impressed with how smooth and quiet they are but they seem slower. They aren't, but they seem it!

Roll on Sunday.
